The Mercedes-Benz dealership in St. Louis covers a total of 94,000 square feet, 60,000 of which make up the occupied building, and the additional 34,000 square feet are for the parking garage. Due to 24 feet of elevation change over a tight sight area, the project required creative site planning and multiple floor levels to address the client’s various operational needs. The design honors the corporate prototype, while modifying the design enough to create an independent look. Throughout the design process, archimania identified local community wishes to re-energize a predominantly vehicular environment, thereby developing the idea to orient the building close to the street in a true urban façade concept, and pushing the parking to the rear of the site.
