archimania receives Honor Award at AIA National Convention

Posted by archimaniacs on July 2, 2014

Last week, June 25th – 28th, three of our archimaniacs, Barry, Matt, and Todd, got the chance to attend the AIA National Convention in Chicago. On Friday, June 27th, archimania was presented a Gulf States Regional Honor Award for Conservation Hall at the Tennessee Governor’s Mansion. One of our favorite comments came from a jury member who found the project “so well done – could have been awful.” In reference to the Gulf States region, one juror wrote, “The body of work represented a broad range of project types and a broad range of overall quality of work.  As is evident by the projects singled out for honors they are evidence that project type matters less than thoughtfulness, discipline and rigor by the designers.”

It was truly an honor for us to be recognized among so many talented architects within the Gulf States Region, including Alabama, Arkansas, Louisiana, Mississippi, and Tennessee.

As always, we had a great time at the convention, and we’re already looking forward to attending the 2014 AIA Tennessee Convention later this summer.
