The owners of Bosco’s—residents of the Overton Square neighborhood since 2000—requested consultation regarding exterior design upgrades to coincide with the neighborhood’s redevelopment project. Our vision was to create a new skin while keeping a few crucial components in mind. First, shelter, to offer patrons with shade and shelter from the weather. Second, materiality, to make the business more dynamic and inviting. Third, light, to provide higher visibility among the neighboring businesses. Finally, signage, to indicate what the restaurant offers.
