Dakota Wyatt - emerging professional fellow

Dakota is from Spring Hill, Tennessee but is now enjoying his 6th year in town at the University of Memphis pursuing a master’s degree in Architecture. In preparation for his upcoming thesis project, he is studying architecture that is built to heal through sustainable design. He believes architects have the responsibility of designing buildings that improve the user’s physical, emotional, mental, spiritual, and social health.

Outside of being an archimaniac, Dakota drives for Lyft so if you catch a ride from him, be sure to turn up the music since he has a hobby of installing car audio systems as well.

Emon Safdari - emerging professional fellow

A grateful Memphis native, Emon is pursuing a Master’s degree at the University of Memphis. He views architecture as living, functional art and loves transforming abstract ideas into reality. Emon appreciates bold architectural moves when generating a concept. He enjoys architecturally-focused travel where he can experience great examples of Brutalist, Classical, and contemporary masterworks.

Lizzie Bateman - emerging professional fellow

Lizzie is a native Memphian, creative mind, lover of plants, and eager student currently enrolled at the Tulane School of Architecture. She views architecture as a tactile way for creatives to connect to the world around them, and make it better. Wanting to live a better life herself, she is interested in the architecture field’s sustainability efforts, and hopes to see them realized in Memphis. Whether through sketching, lettering, or reading, she likes to keep her hands and mind busy.

Mariah Green - emerging professional fellow

Mariah is a visual enthusiast interested in multiple facets of design. She grew up in the Memphis metropolitan area, developing a love for drawing and fashion design and decided to pursue her passion through architecture at Mississippi State University. Through her educational experience, she established an enjoyment for drafting, model-making, and the entire process of designing a space for others to appreciate and experience. She studied abroad in Rome, Italy and became intrigued by the urban fabric of a historic city. Ultimately, she wants to contribute to the design society by creating contemporary work that enhances and works in combination with existing conditions.

When not working, Mariah continues sketching and enjoys retail therapy.
