Svatos Poolhouse
The 1,110 square foot structure was designed to be a versatile pool house alongside a mountain vacation home outside of Washington DC. It serves as a pool, guest, party and boat house, creating a retreat within a retreat. Using the typical barn as a departure point, the vernacular form is modernized through minimal detailing and simple materials. As a result, the house pays homage to the rural countryside, yet stands in stark white simplicity.
