J Humphries, Associate AIA brings his architectural experience throughout the south, and achievements as a product designer and film producer, to the firm’s creative process. His work reflects a profound interest in contextual design that engages a site’s history and encourages sustainable future narratives and trajectories.
A graduate of the School of Architecture at Mississippi State University, J furthered his studies of contemporary architecture and design in the Netherlands. Drawing upon hand sketching in his process, he brings solutions at every scale through visual thought and investigation. Within this fluid medium, he explores the possibility of a more flexible, resilient built environment. His illustrations have been exhibited across the Gulf States region and in Mexico.
He is a New Memphis Embark Leadership Program alumni, a frequent guest juror for the University of Memphis Department of Architecture and has served on multiple artist selection committees for the Urban Art Commission.
